Refreshing

In the course of its winding ascent, the Gornergrat Bahn climbs gradients of up to 200 ‰ and masters an altitude difference of 1469 m, while its passengers enjoy a unique flora and fauna – with all senses. In summer the open windows let in the fragrant scent of the pine and larch forests. Colourful carpets of alpine flowers with hundreds of different butterflies are easy on the eyes. The bells of grazing sheep and goats ring through the silence of the mountains. And the passengers’ exclamations whenever the Matterhorn appears anew outside the windows.
